Inspiration

Long time ago, I heard inspiration came from anywhere

But then I didn't really care

As the years passed by

I found that inspiration indeed could come in any form

Like for instance

Yesterday, inspiration came in the form of you'll

In just the first day you taught me to just keep it real

And, when I write to express how i felt

It sounds crazy but it's been a number of years

Since I've been around so many positive peers

As I sit and look around the room today

I see number of people who have helped me in some way

But what was it that inspired me the most?

I would have to say it is the hearts of our hosts

Because unlike some sources who do not want to see us free

They see the ability to change in you and me

This goes out to everyone of you for you are inspiration

And for keeping me in the path towards a positive destination.

My creator

Allah has tested me in good and bad times

Allah is always there whether I am happy or sad

Allah sends his words and shows us the way

Also He allow us to love another day

Without Allah's words where would I be?

And, what on earth would have become of me?

It is all so confusing so I don't want to know

Through His words I will continue to grow

I'll follow His word and won't think twice

And, InshAllah He will grant me paradise

And, in my prayers I ask He does the same for you

InshAllah, my duas will come true.

Glossary: Dua is an arabic word for prayer.

 Can you forgive me for my mistakes?
Do you believe I have what it takes?
To be the man you want me to be
Even though I'm not even free
I'm not the same person you met at a fight
I'm the person trying to make things right
I've changed from who I was in the past
No longer the one with a stone to cast
I want to show you but don't know how
That's why I'm writing this for you now.
I want this posted so you can see
What it is you mean to me
I hope this shows just how I feel
And lets you know my words are real

Love is....

Love is like a valley, full of snow
At first look, it's as beautiful as can be.
But if you crawl into the valley without
The proper protection, it can be so cold..
At least this is what I thought.
Then I realized I had you.
Being in love with you is like Heaven on earth.
I have no worries.
You're always there through good and bad.
You let me know everything is going to be alright.
I feel so safe.
I'm confident.
I'm comfortable.
I'm free.
I'm careful.
I'm happy.
And in the end, love is always what I wanted to be.
Love is.....
Love is.....
Love is you.
You are my love.
Thank God for Love.

This is for you and all you have done.

You brighten my day like the mid July sun.

You taught me new things and helped me show the way.

To think about it its hard to find the words to say

At first I never knew where my words would start

How they all just came from the heart

You didn’t judge me for what I’ve done

Instead we talked and had some fun

One of these days I know I’ll be free

And able to help you the way you helped me

What can I say you have been a great friend

And I know it’s in you I can depend.

And if there’s anything in your heart you need to share

Just always know that I’ll be there.

It’s been fun

Well as you may notice I don’t really say much
But I want you to know I enjoyed your company and such
It took a lot for you to come and give us your time
You looked at us like people and not just someone who committed crime
I don’t really know you but I am happy to say
That I am glad you decided to give us the time of the day
To show that just because we’re here we are people too
I just wish in this world there were more people like you
Words can’t explain what you have inspired in me
The countless ways you have set my mind free
Thanks for your time and the things you have done
It has been a short journey but it has truly been fun

Pain

Is it physical?
Is it mental?
What is pain?
Why does it feel so bad?
Where does it come from?
How do you get rid of it?
Can you
Or does it stay forever
There be different types
Some make you bleed
Some make you cry
Some you can feel
Some you can not
Some lasts forever
Some only lasts a few second
What is pain?
Is it just a word?
Some believe
You must know it to live
Some prefer to live without it
I have suffered lots of pain
I think I know what it is
It’s the opposite of happy
The opposite of good
It comes from nowhere
I have fought pain
I have won
If it comes back
I will be ready for this pain

"Qawiyy" is an Islamic name which means strong and powerful...I didn't know the meaning of it and just looked it up and thought it was an interesting especially with the theme of this poem and the way this brother ended it.
